About

I'm an Austin-based editor for Pillar4 Media and a former editor and feature writer for Bicycling Magazine and Runner’s World. My work primarily focuses on fitness, sleep, the outdoors, parenting, and LGBTQ families. Recently a story I wrote for the Bicycling Magazine Nov/Dec 2017 issue received a Notable Mention in the 2018 edition of Best American Sportswriting. You can read that story here.

Prior to getting my degree at the Missouri School of Journalism, I worked as a bike messenger in Portland, Ore., and a cross-country bike tour leader—two job experiences that fostered my talents for chasing down two-wheeled adventure and maintaining a sense of humor in dystopian weather conditions. Like any good bike (and running) nerd, I’m forever excited to find out what new challenges I can conquer and what’s over the next hill.

You can find more of my published writing in Bicycling, Runner's World, Outside, Wirecutter, ELLE, Popular Mechanics, What to Expect, the Willamette Week, Lonely Planet, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, and here at caitlingiddings.com. Follow me on Instagram or Twitter at @caitlingiddings.
